Industrial Chiller
1)What is Chillar:-Industrial process chiller is a machine which remove heat from liquid by vapour Compression, absorption and adsorption cycle.
This Chilled liquid further used for cooling in Air Handling unit, For Reactor,For heat exchanger and for lots of equipment who's need to be cool.
Industrial Process Water Chiller
We are going to see Industrial process Water Chiller on a vapour compression cycle,Chiller maintain temperature of water at 4℃, this Chilled water required in Air Handling unit for maintaining temperature and humidity of Air.
2)Main components of Chiller:-
In every chiller there are four most important parts are Compressor,Condenser,Expansion valve and Evaporator.
-Compressor:- When we start the chiller compressor compress the vapour Refrigerant Due to the compression, pressure and temperature of vapour Refrigerant increases. Compressor circulates the Refrigerant through the all system, there is no any equipment used for refrigerant circulation through system.
-Condenser:- After compressor high pressure and high temperature vapour Refrigerant comes in condenser. Cooling water provided for condenser for cooling. When Refrigerant inters in condenser heat exchange done between cooling water and refrigerant.Cooling water remove heat from refrigerant.Due to Cooling of refrigerant,it condensate in condenser and found a liquid form.
-Expansion Valve:- After condenser high pressure and low temperature liquid Refrigerant pass through expansion valve. In expansion valve expansion of refrigerant happens which means the sudden pressure drop happens in expansion valve.Due to the pressure dropping of liquid refrigerant it's temperature also decreases because the property of gases when gas pressure suddenly decrease then temperature also decreases.
-Evaporator:- Then low temperature and low pressure liquid refrigerant comes in evaporator. In evaporator water is provided which is to be Chilled. When refrigerant inters in evaporator again pressure drop of refrigerant happens because in the evaporator the volume of refrigerant flowing line is more than the before evaporator refrigerant flowing line.Due to increase in volume, pressure again decreases of refrigerant and refrigerant found a vapour state. Then heat exchange done between low temperature refrigerant and water. The low temperature of refrigerant gained by water.
After evaporator low temperature low pressure vapour Refrigerant comes in a compressor. Then again this cycle continues.
Overview
Apart from that four main component of Process Chiller some another component also used for more efficient of Chiller like Subcooler, oil separator, oil cooler, primary expansion valve with heat exchange.
Tip: Subcooler and primary expansion valve with heat exchange are used in brine Chiller where temperatures maintained in a -°C.

Maintaining industrial cooling towers isn’t an easy task if you don’t know much about them.
ReplyDeleteWith a little knowledge, you can make this task simple and efficient for yourself. By proper maintenance, you can enhance the performance and longevity of your chiller as well.
Just follow these tips to maintain your industrial chiller:
Regular Inspection
The fundamental method to maintain your industrial cooling tower is to inspect it regularly. From the gearbox to the water pump, you should do regular inspection to ensure there are no loose components.
Regular inspection will also allow you to spot corrosion, scaling and other similar adverse issues.
When you’ll find these issues before they escalate, you can get rid of them and keep your chiller in optimum condition.
