Performance Testing Or Efficiency Of Refrigeration System.

Performance Of Refrigeration System

The intention of Performance checking is to  corroborate the performance of Refrigeration system by using  factual Performance  measures. The test will measure net cooling capacity( tons of Refrigeration) and the energy conditions all on the  factual  handling condition.

 Definations-
 1) Tons of Refrigeration( TR)- One tons of Refrigeration is the  quantum of cooling  goods produced in one ton of ice melting in a day.

 1TR =  3024 kcal/ h, or 12000 btu/ h or 3.516 thermal kw

 2) Energy effectiveness rate- EER is calculated by dividing the  quantum of Refrigeration  goods produced in watts to the  quantum energy input consumed to produce that effect in watts at full  cargo condition.

 3) Kw/ ton conditions Generally known as a  effectiveness, but actually power input to compressor motor is divided by the refrigeration  goods produced.
 Lower Kw/ ton means that the advanced  effectiveness.

 Net Refrigeration Capacity( TR)-
 Thia test include the  dimension of net  junking from the water as it passes through the evaporator.
 For calculating TR we need to Calculate following data.

 1) Chilled Water inflow rate flowing through the evaporator coil.
 2) Chilled Water Inlet entering and the outlet leaving temperature.

 The tons of Refrigeration can be  attained from the following formula.

 TR = ( M × Cp ×( Inlet T- Outlet T)) ÷ 3024

 Where,
 M =  Mass inflow rate of stupefied water, kg/ hr
 Cp =  Specific Heat of water in kcal/ kg °C
 Inlet T =  Inlet Temperature Of stupefied water
 Outlet T =  Outlet Temperature of stupefied water.

 The accurate temperature  dimension is a  veritably critical in Refrigeration and air  exertion, least count should be at least one Decimal.

 Styles of measuring Water inflow-

 In the absence of online inflow  cadence water inflow can be measured by using following  system.

- None invasive  system would bear a well calibrated ultrasonic inflow  cadence
 Using which the inflow can be measured without disturbing the system.

- If the inshore pressure drop are close to the design value,  also it can be assumed that the water inflow of the pump is equal to design rated inflow.

 Dimension of Compressor Power-
 The compressor power can be measured in a  movable  power analyzer which will give you a direct reading in kw.

 still,  also the power can be calculated by the multiplying ampere with voltage and power factor, If not.

 Kw =  Square root of 3 × I × V × cos o

 Heat rejected By Condenser-

 Heat reject =  Cooling  cargo + work done by compressor

 Performance computations:

 COP =  kw Refrigeration effect ÷ kw input

 EER =  watt Refrigeration effect ÷ watt input

 Kw/ TR =  kw input ÷ tons of Refrigeration effect

  1. can some one tells me what id the material of water pipes in chillers?

How to control Temperature and Humidity in Air Handling Unit

  How to control Temperature and Humidity in Air Handling Unit Overview Air Handling unit is a system used to supply temperature and Humidity controlled filtered air to the cleanroom. For air filtration various types of filters are used in AHU. And for temperature and Humidity controlling cooling and heating coils are provided in AHU. Goals Control the temperature of air used in the cleanroom  Control the humidity of air used in cleanroom  Air filters Specifications    The air Handling unit consists of Air filter  Cooling coil Heating coil Air blower HEPA Filter  Controlling of Temperature and Humidity  By Cooling Method  The cooling coil recirculates the chilled water having temperatures between 4°C to 6°C. This chilled water comes from the Chiller through centrifugal pumps. When we start the Air Handling unit blowers sucks the air through the pre filters of the air Handling unit. When blowers sucks air, it passes through the cooling co...

AIR FLOW, AIR VELOCITY, ACPH, AHU CAPACITY

Air Changes per Hour AIR VELOCITY AND ACPH OF ROOM OR AREA   Procedure to be followed: Air Velocity Measurement and Calculation of Air Changes: Objective : To demonstrate  that the   air system is balanced and capable of delivering air velocities and providing number of air changes per hour in the respective rooms as   per requirement. Equipment to be used: Hotwire Anemometer or capture Hood Pre Requisite: Air Volumes through supply and return grills and filters should be adjusted as per the design requirement of Air Change Rate and Differential Pressure. Test Method : Ensure that the Supply blower of the AHU is "ON" prior to the start of the observations. For compliance of air change rate, velocity to be measured at 5   different locations to below the each terminal or Grill (Four Corners and center) with the help of calibrated Anemometer. Calculate the   average  velocity of the air coming from Plenum HEPA filter / supply air grill. Calculate the air...

Why ice forms at cooling coil and Suction line in Refrigeration system

 Why ice forms at cooling coil and Suction line in Refrigeration system       it's all about the relationship between a temperature and pressure and how the pressure affect the boiling point of the refrigerant. As the pressure of refrigerant increases then the temperature and boiling point also increases,  when pressure decreased temperature and boiling point also decreases. Refrigeration and air conditioning systems take use of it to cool the air or liquid.   Normal Refrigeration System      In normal refrigeration system compressor compresses the refrigerant which causes the increase in pressure and temperature of refrigerant. The hot vapour refrigerant pass through the condenser in condenser heat exchange happens and refrigerant condensate into liquid forms.Before entering in the evaporator high pressure liquid refrigerant pass through the expansion of valve. The actual device used depends on the Refrigeration system but capillary t...
