Common Issue's In Refrigeration And HVAC System
The Refrigeration systems not only provide us a comfort air and sufficient temperatures but also provides us productivity, energy Bill's and product safety.
The Refrigeration system runs almost continuously all time with providing us comfort air and temperature. Doing a sufficient preventive maintenance on scheduled basis to keep Refrigeration in proper working condition and efficient in all time.
Some time we'll maintained and operational system may give us some operational problems. Then knowing the problem is big challenging for us, because the Refrigeration systems are very critical.
Below are the some common problems with its causes in Refrigeration system which we should have to aware about it.
- Room Temperature High or worm:-
Causes
- Low Refrigerant or a under charged refrigerant level in system.
- Incorrect oil and refrigerant ratio can cause a increased Suction temperature of compressor.
- Dirty Condenser and evaporator which can cause low heat exchange in Condenser and evaporator.
- Low cooling capacity of the coil due to debris and dirt accumulation.
- Compressor capacity control faulty.
2. Ice buildup Inside the refrigerator:-
Causes
- Ice buildup Inside the refrigerator can cause due to the warm air enters in the refrigerator which condenses on interior surface. Due to the ice buildup Inside the refrigerator which creates some problems such as improper ventilation.
3. Compressor Suction Pressure High:-
Causes
- Fractured Compressor Valves
- Evaporator loads too high due to room doors kept open.
- High charge of refrigerant than its capacity
- Due to the dirt in expansion valve which cause keep expansion valve in fully open position.
4. Compressor Suction Pressure Low:-
Causes
- Low refrigerant level in the system which can cause the low Suction pressure to the compressor.
- Less opening for the expansion valve or superheat very low.
- Thermostatic expansion valve clogged with ice or oil dust mixture
- Evaporator cooling capacity reduced due to dust and dirt accumulation on coil.
5. Compressor Discharge Pressure High:-
- Due to high Discharge pressure of compressor causes the compressor to overload the prime mover and expose the high pressure side of system to overpressure.
Causes for high Discharge Pressure
- Low cooling or air flow through the Condenser
- Condenser outlet valve closed or damaged
- High condensing temperature
- High Compression ratio
6. Abnormal noise comes from Refrigeration system:-
Causes for abnormal Noise
- Loose anchors bolts or clamping bolts
- Foamed oil compressed
- Improper fan motor fittings
- High Discharge pressure causes the abnormal noise from compressor
- Refrigerant inlet valve throttled and high velocity of refrigerant.
7. Compressor low oil pressure:-
- In the screw compressor, oil continuously separated from the refrigerant in the oil separator by electrically driven lube oil pump or by shaft driven lube oil pump.
Causes for low oil pressure
- Clogged oil filters
- Oil separator blockage preventing oil return to the compressor .
- Carryover of oil into the Refrigeration system, the oil from the oil separator goes with the refrigerant in the whole Refrigeration system.
- Bearing wear within the compressor allows the high leakage of oil through bearings.
